I was in Drive going at 5mph when I accidentally threw my truck into PARK. it sounded pretty bad. I haven't noticed any problems since. What did I do exactly (technically speaking, not that I was an IDIOT) and how does this damage the transmition?

I think putting the transmission in Park makes a pawl engage some teeth. Unless the pawl got snapped off, in which case shifting to park wouldn't "Park" the rig, probably just ground some meat off some teeth. But I could be wrong. |
