I am getting a Disco II soon and am trying to decide how to mount a winch to it. This will be my only car so I want to maintain the safety of the vehicle. Can anyone tell me about the winch frame mounts, like the ones on the LR G4 vehicles. I've heard they aren't any good. I only do moderate off roading, so I don't need anything that will support pulling the truck up rock walls. Who makes those mounts besides LR? I'd much rather do that than put on a ARB or TJM airbag bar. Any help would be great. Thanks, Jamil |

I saw a RR the other day with a universal style plug mounted under the front bumper to the frame and a Warn winch was just plugged into it like you would a hitch receiver or pully. It hung out in front a little but it wasn't lower than the bumper itself so clearance wouldn't be an issue. If you got your frontend stuck you could just pop the winch off the front and plug it into the rear receiver and pull yourself out backwards. Also if you wanted to you could just take it off easily when not off-road. The Warn website shows this style if you're interested: http://products.warn.com/warn.nsf/warn?openframeset&frame=body&src=/warn.nsf/pag es/TruckProducts.Main.html |

You can add an internal mount that fits in the chassis right behind the stock bumber. DAP sells everything you need, and it's not very expensive (exluding the winch). Visit the DAP site for info. http://www.dap-inc.com/acc_frm.htm |

Jamil, I am selling the setup that Corey is referring to. Still got it with the '20 cable made by warn. Let me know if you are interested. |
