I have 90k on my '96 Disco (and shocks) and it drives like a boat. I have decided to put on Bilstein shocks to improve the road handling since my tires unfortunately see more asphalt than dirt. Should I replace the springs at this time as well? How about the Bilsteins with heavy duty Land Rover springs? Everything else is stock and I don't plan on doing any other major mods anytime soon.

I have the same year disco with 97 k bilsteins and medium ds OME springs (1 1/2" higher). This upgrade made the on road ride much better. One downside, it does wander a bit in the steering because of the new castor angle.

BUSHINGS.... Consider replacing the bushings on the arms from the frame to the axles.

I've got a 2000 Disco2 with 45k and I'm putting on new Bilsteins this week end. Not opting for the spring thing as I hope to improve the road handling only. also just went for the Michelin cross terrains, very quiet.
