I finally had some time to do some work on the rover today. In the process of greasing my zerks I found a nice surprise. The stupid fucking Sam's club tire guys tryed to lift the rover by the sill and bent it. They bent the front of the passenger side sill. It was the area where the sill isn't boxed. My door is alot closer to the plastic sill on that side now. It's hard to tell if the door simply needs adjusted or the sill was damaged that bad. I asked them 3 times if they had worked on Land Rovers before and I even told them to make sure to lift it by the frame. They said not to worry that they would do it correctly. I know I'm a moron for trusting these retards but now what do I do. It's been almost 2 weeks since they put the tires on. My plan is to take it to a body shop for an estimate and then confront them. I have a $500 comprehensive deductible. I don't know if I should be more pissed at myself or at them. Any ideas what I should do?
This is a bad picture but you can sorta see the damage in the lower left.

I can't imagine that that will really matter in the long run. I have seen much, much worse from wheeling.

I think they should pay. If that damage happened offroad, that would have been your choice. This wasn't. Read the contract - anything in there about liability for damages?

Thanks for the heads-up about Sam's Club. Fools.

Well, yes, they may have done some damage. So you should probably alert them to that fact that they MAY have done the damage. At the very least it will enable them to confront the idiot that did not know how to position the lift. In the real world though, this did not affect the structural integrity or outward apprearance so it is pretty begnign as far as damage goes.

Well, I guess I didn't clarify how bad the damage may be. The door above it now doesn't line up with the rest of the body. There is less than 8th of an inch clearance between the door and the plastic sill only in the area the sill was damaged. I know it wasn't like that previously. Perhaps its unrelated, I doubt it though. I just have a problem with the fact that I try very hard to keep my sills intact since I can't afford rock sliders yet. Then they go and mess them up. The exterior and interior of this truck are damn near perfect and I want to keep it that way. When I worked as a detailer for landrover if I messed up a car I would own up to it. These people had to know they messed it up and let me drive off with a smile on my face.

I would go and find the little bastard that did that and beat the crap out of him right in front of all his co-workers. I would then say, "you better grease my zerks, bitch!" That way when you come in next time all of them will know you weren't playing and they'll use the frame.

I once watched as an NTB guy tried lifting the Disco from the chassis. Poor guy couldn't believe it when the wheels wouldn't leave the ground....guess it worked on Jeeps

Just a little update on my problem. I finally got an estimate today. $480 bucks worth of damage. Sam's Club has agreed to pay the bill. I'm tempted to pocket the cash but I'm going to get it repaired. I don't want my sill rotting like the 88 RRC I had.

What do you guys think? Get the body shop to fix it or should I invest in some rock sliders with the money. I'd just leave it be if it weren't for the door not being quite in line with the body now. I'm a bit afraid that they will just make things worse trying to bend the sill back down. I can definitely rust proof the damage myself.

Use the money and get some rock sliders for sure, you won't be sorry.
