Yep, they are LR-knockoffs... didn't make it, though, so by their rarity, they are worth a pretty penny....

But I'd rather have a Tickford..... :-)

Leslie - there's a restorer here that has one in the back of his plane hanger. I don't know very much about them but he seems to think they're pretty darn good off-roaders.

This is the first one I have seen with doors. As I recall they were made to compete with Land Rover for MOD bids, and lost thereby becoming an orphan. (Similar thing happened when Jeep was just getting started. Willys won over Bantam, or something like that.)

rust buckets, with IFS, there is a reason rover won when they were not supposed to.

Not only that but I remember looking at one and finding it had a strange torsion bar suspension that twisted in a RUBBER bushing. I don't think the term "long-lasting" would apply...

they both are jeep knockoffs...
