I don't have them, but I believe R. B. Bailey has a set of them.

I just spoke w/Andy about these springs...and they sound great...just wondering about why so many guys go w/OME or Rovertyme springs?

Thats all

Also, check out the before and after photos on my web site.

There has been some debate about NWParts... Andy was really good to me, gave me a good price, and his springs are well designed. They are of the HD category, but I put MS OME Shocks on and they ride real nice on the road. Off-road (since I have now taken them off-road) They also feel great on the trail rides. I am not sure I get full upward articulation like I would with OME's, but I will be testing that on a ramp on the 19th of this month, so we will see...
I recommend them, especially if you are in the Portland area - support our local businesses, buy the springs from Andy, get your shocks from Doug Shipman.

I concur with RB. Andy was great to deal with. I love my springs. To add to RB's comments, the springs are sufficiently HD, that you can remove both front and rear anti-sway bars and it won't sway as much as it did with stock springs and the anti-sways attached. I have had the truck on the freeway doing 75-80 without the anti-sways in place and the truck handles fine. They have certainly performed well for me offroad as well.

If you check the archives, there have been several threads on the springs over the past 6 months. Also look under "green benders" as that was their original name.

I think the reason OME et al get so much airtime is that they perform well AND have been around forever. Green Monsters are, by comparison, brand new and very few people have tried them yet. Those that have seem to really like them (myself included).

I've had green monsters for a couple of months now. Other than some initial inconsistencies wih manufacture (which Andy is taking care of) they have been very good. On highway and off road, I'm very happy with them,

I'm not sure why anyone uses RTE springs either. :-)

Todd,
You don't have any anti-sway bars on your truck? Is this common pratice for modified discos? I broke a front sway mount on my police car and thought I was going to be sea sick for the rest of the shift.

Yes. I took them off a few weeks back before an offroad trip with the Dealer to Sedona, AZ. I wanted to see how it performed offroad and on a twisty highway at the 75mph speed limit.

Suffice it to say, it handles better offroad and well onroad. I know that others have done the same thing with softer springs/shock combos than I have. In my case, because the green monsters are comparatively stiff, the difference with them on and off wasn't that noticeable and I got the benefit of better articulation. The only time I notice it is there is a bit more lean on corners at speed...about comparable to what I had with the OEM shocks/coils with the antisway bars attached. By no means scientific analysis, but I am comfortable with it.

I don't have that "Cadillac float" that induces nausea by any stretch of the imagination. Because my Disco is my daily driver and I have 30 mile round trip commute on the freeway, I would have put them back on if I did not feel comfortable with them off.

Others have fabricated quick releases to serve the same purpose for offroad. I just wasn't that motivated.

Feel free to give it a shot. If you don't like it, they are pretty easy to put back on. Also, the quick release may be the way to go if you want the best of both worlds.

haha, no, but i probably should!

Actually,(unless i come to an almost complete stop) every pothole/speedbump/etc. sets off my emergency flashers because the front suspension bottoms out--its pretty annoying.

Will-

What cracks me up about those springs is that they're sold as linear-rate springs.

As you can plainly tell, it was not a completely linear rate of spring compression, was it?

So much for the theory that "it's just a simple spring"

Glad to hear that you've got some real spring action on the way.

Will,
Did you try to resolve that w/ John first ? I hear that he is more than willing to resolve any problem w/ any of his products . Personally I haven't had any problems w/ my RTE stuff . I don't have his springs yet but they are on my short list , w/in a couple of weeks .

Ed-Yes, i did, and John offered either a new set of springs or a refund, so i chose the refund. John has been great to work with, but I am now to a point where i just want some springs that will do what they are supposed to-so i went with OMEs.

Yeah, from what I read on this board I thought that the RTE springs were the best around. What went wrong?

Just installed my 1" lift Green(now yellow) Monsters from NWParts. Oh yeah! I sand blasted the springs and powdercoated them safety yellow to match my OME shocks. The Disco went up 2.5-3" in height because my original springs were sagging a lot. The Disco rides level now which makes my wife happy. She was worried that people thought she was really fat because the car listed to her side. The ride is a little stiffer, but that's okay. No nose dive under heavy breaking and no noticeable vibes on highway. I would recommend them.

I've had RTE 2inch springs (and they still give me 2 inches of lift) for over a year. I just bought the 3 inch springs from RTE. Hundreds of people have them and you only hear of problems once in a blue moon. Curious to see how the Green things sag after 18 months.

If RTE spring distribution is in the hundreds, I'd be curious to see how many OME-sprung Discos there are world-wide.

I'd be willing to bet that OME has sold at least 100 times the number of Disco spring sets than RTE.

That being said, OME (and ARB) distribute springs to more than just Land Rover applications. I think there is probably a bit more variance in RTE's somewhat small production batches than in OME's facilities
