should somebody tell this guy the NASDAQ is NOT
at 5000+ any longer. Looks like a cool truck, heavily molested, but I have no problem with that. Until you read this..

"Can do 4 wheel burn out on dry pavement"

why would you write this in an ad to sell a vehicle at an outrageous premium? Is that a selling point?? In other words, hes saying "I do 4 wheel burnouts on pavement with a supercharged 4.6, and my entire drivetrain is holding on by a thread" Its like an ad I saw for a 69 BOSS, in the ad the guy writes.. "adult owned, never raced or abused", then in the picture all you can see is from the B pillar forward as the entire rear of the car was engulfed in a smoky burnout. I dont get it.

Sounds like a nice truck to go mudding in. But painted yellow diff covers and trailing arms? I thought this was a LR not a Chevy. Offroad only 4 times, what a shame, I feel sorry for that defender.

he has switched over and got a H2, worst thing is he is getting "bling" accessories.
Check out his feed back. He's about to ruin another vehicle. All a shame

Doesn't the eye glasses refer to an Ebay icon on being a bidder with less than 10 transactions on ebay?

Andy ,

it refers to someone who has changed his user name or set up an account within the last month or so.

Yes, but I like to imagine that it means he discriminates against those without perfect eyesight. :-)

So the buy it now option was set at 54995, now the auction has a reserve met at 38800. I wonder why the sudden drop in selling price. Could it have been the burn outs.

it's all just a little auction strategy.

you might as well set the buy it now price as high as you think you might get plus a little more. that way if someone really wants the truck and doesn't want to risk being out bid you'll get top dollar. as for the reserve, set it at the absolute minimum you would sell the truck for.

just my $0.02

What a load of crap!! There is no way that the D90 with a 4.6 & supercharged is capable of doing 4 wheel burnouts on the pavement. Despite the fact that D90's, Discovery's and Range Rovers are constant 4 wheel drive, planting the foot to the floor boards only achieves wheel spin in the rear wheels, that is to say, more of the power transfer is at the rear wheels than at the front.

THat is the reason for difflock so that all wheels providing you have lockers all tires will pull at the same rate untill something breaks. I heard talk of D-90's doing 4 wheel burnouts so I would not rule that statement out. Why is this not possible? I have seen Land Cruisers, Jeeps and full size chevrolets smoke all 4 tires, why couldnt a Defender do it. envy?

FWIW. It all depends on the power of the motor/weight. The only time I've seen a burnout from a Discovery (on a web site) was from a 4.6 supercharged Disco located in Western Australia and to achieve that the owner had disconnected the front driveshaft.
From personal experience, I've had over the last 7 years had 2 superchargers, the first an Eaton M62, then a vortech V2 fitted to a 4.7L stroker motor in my 95 and at no time have I ever achieved a burn out. Some wheel spin in first and second, but no big burn outs.
One of the things to take into account is what type of supercharger the D90 is fitted with. If it's an Eaton then 5 PSI is about the best you can get out of it, and that depends on what model was fitted, if it was a M62 or M90 then less psi can be expected. The vortech can be cranked right up to 20 PSI +. I currently experience 8-9 PSI.

Good point Phillip about the weight difference. With regards to the lockers, I have never tried to engage them when drag racing of the lights.

I hear you, however I have seen more carnage from trying to get thru a mud hole or up a rock than I have seen from burnouts.
