After reconnecting my battery I have found out that the code that came with my used 96 range rover is incorrect. How can I override the system to get my stereo working again?

or if they dont know it you will have to remove the radio and get the serial number and then call them back.

you might need proof of ownership etc.

I have already used the vin # with a dealer and
they removed the radio. Somehow the code # is
different from what is on the radio. I need to know how to override the system. It has to do with leaving the car just turned on for +one hour
and then starting the car and ??????

IF IT HAS BEEN ON LOCKDOWN. it will not accept any codes.

you have to leave the car on, for approx 1hour without touching the buttons on the radio.

then it should clear the lockdown on its own and will start accepting codes, otherwise you are screewed and the radio is kaput.

if you took the car to the delaer and they could not get the radio working again , you are screewed.

take note that giving the dealer your VEhicle Identification Number (VIN) and the serial number on the radio itself are two different numbers.

Rob, thanks so much for the info. Are you saying that by driving the car or just putting the key
in position one for an hour will restart the stereo? I'll let you know how it works out.
