does anyone know of a good mechanic for my 98 Dicovery (84k miles) in the Cranbury/West Windsor area in New Jersey that will not cost me a arm and a leg. My truck is starting/running rough and the check engine and service engine light just came on.

Thanks
Brad

When you find one let me know. I was told about a Rover mechanic in Paramus but I cant track down his number. Again if you come across his number please let me know. Thanks and good luck

That would be Vinny, at Import Specialist (www.roverspecialist.com).

Vinny is about 2 miles from me. Haven't used him yet (I haven't had to ) but I know he's good as a couple of my buddies with RRCs use him. He's definitely your cheaper alternative from a dealer. I think they even use the same diagnostic computer as the dealer (rovacom i think). Goodluck!

Vinny looks good but is there any closer to the Princeton area... it may be hard to get back home after dropping off my truck in Paramus besides the ride back to pick it up.

damn... that's too bad man! How many miles do you have on the timing chain? Were there specific symptoms that relates to the timing chain other than rough running?

Look at it on the bright side though, you could either squeeze a 4-6 in there or go Tdi!
