Well, despite mucho assistance from Charlotterover and Raf Usher, I finally caved and took the truck to a british service place near me. Turns out that the spot welds had broken on the "toothy" thing I was describing -- in short, I'd managed to break the motor! New one's on the way, after they tried re-welding the part in place...why can't we make trucks out of that material? Anything that doesn't rust (96 D1) and won't take a weld's gotta have some longevity... Thanks again DWeb (although I couldn't fix it myself...) |

Same exact thing happened to my truck, same year. Although I'm a decent welder, didn't even attempt this one. Mine broke about 1.5 years ago. Strange. |
