I've put mine on the truck scale a couple of diffrent times. Both times it was 5250lbs. This is a basiclly stock disco without gear in the back. That puts weight without passengers right at 5000lbs. It blew me away! |

Mine weighed in at 5250#'s the other day with nothing much inside, not even myself. I've got RTE sliders, TJM bumper, etc. |

Did you guys know that the body, engine, and frame are only 150#. The other 5000# is wires for the ECU. If you don't believe me just try and trace one of the rear tail lights to the battery. |

"well 4550 for one with no options, nothing on it also. No cd, rear AC, jump seats, etc.." LOL...you know them pesky CD players can really add an extra 300 lbs to the vehicle. |

It's the wire for the CD player that causes the weight. |

We weighed our vehicles 3 weeks ago in full trail AND camping trim. My Jeep TJ came in at 2070kg and buddy's Disco at 2230 or 2300. He's here, so Kevin if you read it, you can maybe give us the real number. Either way the Disco was lighter than expected (and the heep heavier than expected). |

Will: The accepted density for water is 8.34 pounds per gallon (sea level, STP), also, as you used units in your calculations, you were referring to density, rather than specific gravity which is a unitless factor. Paul Engineer who has to use those equations '95 DI '67 IIA |

Yes Paul, I use them also every day and I realized my misquote after the post, but figured most these folks wouldn't recognize the diff. lol. The density for gas is correct. I feel like I'm sitting for the PE exam again, lol Ciao, W2 |

You're ahead of me with the PE, something I'll never achieve. But, every day is repeating the Cert. Haz-Mat Mgr. and Wastewater Treatment Op. lic. exams. I never had to use the imperial units until I got out of school, and then, I needed them everywhere. Peace, Paul |
