Any tips on who to call to ship an ARB to someone? Efficient/low cost but will not damage?

Thanks!

I have a 13 foot kayak coming to me pretty cheap through forwardair (www.forwardair.com)

I agree with the www.forwardair.com thing.

I have shipped two rover racks to different people and it costs around 50 bucks for them.

The brush guard I sent to Andy at NWP was about the same if I remember.

Thing is: you and the buyer need access to an airport city. See the website for locations.

Hope it helps

Jess

I agree, Forward air kicks *ss. The caveat is that they don't do door to door service. You have to drop off the bumper on a pallete at their depot (usually located very near to the airport) and the reciever has to pick it up from their Forward Air depot. But to save $100 on shipping costs, it's usually worth the PITA in my opinion.

One other thing: Unless you have an account set up with them, they only accept cashiers checks or money orders as a form of payment. So you have to take the package in, get it weighed and priced, then go get a money order or something like that (the one in Denver doesn't even take cash).

Good luck,

Damn Good Tip guys on the Forward Air thing. I'll keep that in mind for future sales.

It looks like forwardair is FAST too, my kayak just left from Albuquerque today and they are estimating that it will be in Baton Rouge on Monday.

Greyhound said they had a 100 lb weight limit. I have de jas vous right now. I seem to recall a thread about this. Your response is that you just tell em it's a hundred pounds.

Thanks, but no way we're both driving to airport waypoints, so forward air is out. Roadrunner....hmmmm....

That is so true.

Greyhound Guy: "Paul how much does this weigh?"

Me: "100 Pounds exactly"

Greyhound Guy: "Well that's good enough for me."

However, larger greyhound stations that own scales will accept up to 150 lb items. It just depends on your local facilities.

my local forward air terminal is no where near the airport, from what I understand they are actually a trucking company w/ a confusing name. Look on the website for the closest location before you discount it so quickly.
