I have a 96 Disco and the lumbar support in the drivers side seat collapsed. I know nothing about the inside of a seat and before I take it off to the dealer to be robbed, I wanted to see if anyone has already enjoyed this back breaking experience. Options are 1. Get seat fixed 2. Get replacement seat from wrecker. What do people suggest.

Same thing happened to mine. I have yet to do anything about it. Does anyone have any suggestions? |

I once bought a seat cover with a built in lumbar support from Auto Zone. The freakin' thing was way overdone on lumbar support. Maybe something like this would help? Daniel |

I am getting by with a small blanket rolled up into the lower part of the seat. Works a treat once I am in the car but gets out of shape every time I jump in and out which is a real pain when I am off road.

Hi All Same thing happened to mine, so I took it apart and had a look. There is a plastic strip which is tightened by a screw each side, it is a heat welded loop, and the adhesive failed. I couldn`t figure a way of fixing it, until my wife said run it over with the sewing machine. This worked a treat and I would say is better than factory. Pete S. |

When you say "so I took it apart and had a look", how involved is that? Isn't the seat cover upholstery hard to remove? Also, do you need to remove the seat from the vehicle to do this? Thanks, James N. |

Hi James I never removed the seat, I just undid all the lower clips/hooks and just peeled it up, like a sock, enough to get into the back, I then unbolted the strip of plastic that is the lumber support. It was not difficult. Pete S |

Success - pulled the seat cover off to discover a broken metal clip. A bit of deft work with a coat hanger (approx. same guage as broken metal clip) and I am back in a comfortable seat. Thanks everyone for your help. Greg
