Wondering if anyone can help me here... On my '95 Disco the right front wheel lets out a LOUD popping sound when turned and given gas (like pulling out of my drive every morning). I believe it is only the right front. I've never had this trouble ont of my D90, thought you guys could shed some light. Thanks for any help. Burke |

CV joint? Go to a parking lot, turn the wheel slightly, begin turning in tighter circles, if the popping or clicking becomes worse, you probably have a bad CV joint. How many miles? Swivel oil level? Paul |

Burke, is it a continous POP or a single pop. I have the same problem on my right front tire, when making really hard turns it pops and a loud noise is heard. I think there might be a wheel turning lock and I must be hitting it, I dont really know someone help us out here. |

Mine is doing it, too. I have been under it several times and tried to shake the noise out of it. I have even been under it while someone else rocks the truck back and forth. Can't narrow it down. Mine seems to be coming from the driver's side. |

Hi all, I *think* I might have the same problem, but I know what it is. On our 95 disco, the upper shock mount is loose. To see if yours is loose, open the hood and look at the shock tower as you bounce up and down on the truck. If the top shock tower isn't tight, you'll know it (i.e. the little plate at the top will be bouncing up and down on the shock tower). Try that first. See what that does. Max T. |

A friend had a similar popping sound. Turned out to be the panhard bushing. On mine, it was loose bolts on the front radius arms. Another friend had the same problem, only worse. Turned out the bushing had worn so badly that it also enlarged the hole where the panhard rod mounted to the axle. The repair shop fixed it by doing some creative welding. Thanks, Mike B. |

What would be the best way to check this? Where is the panhard bushing? |

Sorry all, been out of town. Thanks for all the feedback, glad to see I'm not alone. I will check all of the above and get back to you. |

Greg, the panhard bushings are pressed into the panhard rod (one at each end). The panhard rod connects the frame to the axle housing. |

Well, I got under and above and nothing was loose. One thing I am sure about is it only happens under acceleration, not when simply rolling. I am a novice with steering and suspension, so I am not sure what I am looking for? |
