my 96 disco has a 4 speed auto..at 70 mph im turning 2500 rpm's at 60mph in 3rd im turnin 2500rpm..i also have a 1 ton chevy with 4 speed auto and 4:11 rear gears it turns 2500 rpm's in 3rd gear also.. both trucks have the same size tires ...im wondering if my disco has the stock gears 3.54 ratio

Block the front wheels so they dont move, put your transfer case in neutral, lift one side of the Disco, mark a chaulk line on your rear drive shaft and start counting the # of turns your drive shaft turns for one tire rotation. 3.5 turns would be 3.55, 4 or more shaft turns and you are in luck!

your chevy truck has a 1:1 hi range gear ratio.

you disco has a 1.22:1 hi range gear ratio.
3.54x1.22=4.32
