D2 front half-shaft oil seal

Author Message   Derek Reed (Dmr) New Member Username: Dmr Post Number: 34 Registered: 11-2002 Posted on Friday, June 13, 2003 - 04:22 pm:    I'm thinking of adding a truetrac to the front of my D2 and just pulling each half-shaft out just enough to drop the third member and leaving the oil seal inplace. I'm I asking for trouble by not pulling the whole axle and replacing the seal. When I installed the rear, I just pulled the axles out about 6 inches, the O-rings looked good so I left them inplace. I figured as long as I didn't unseat the seal it should be fine.
