Hello All,
Is Seafoam Deep Creep the stuff that many of you have used to help with the sticky valves. I believe I have the early onset of sticking valves. My 96 Disco stutters at high speeds much like the symptoms described in past threads. It does not do it all the time and I do have a check engine misfire code on cylinders 5 and 7. When using seafoam do you spray it into the intake until the engine cuts out and the let it sit then restart? I am trying to take inexpensive measures until about two months or so when I will have the time, energy, and most of all the money to get a valve job.

Thanks for any input
Drew

The seafoam that I have used comes in a can that you can pour in to the gas tank and into the oil. Not sure about a sprayable version. I get at Advance Auto or Autozone.

Lucas fuel injector cleaner might help as well.

Thanks Joey,
This one you spray directlt into the intake. Got it at NAPA. They did not have the can version. I already tried the BG 44K in the gas tank. I have not yet tried the seafoam though. I wanted to check with the experianced first before I try it.

I would recommend that you add some the oil as well. 1 oz per quart of oil. For a Disco that would be 7oz of seafoam. Does wonders at cleaning the inside of the engine. Change the oil as normal after 500 to 1000 miles.

Deep creep is the spray version , I like the liquid better but have used both. I removed each spark plug and sprayed alittle into each cylinder then replaced old plugs with new NGK's(properly gapped). I let sit for 3-5 min. started her up then sprayed the balance of the can into the intake til stall, let sit again 3-5. crank her up and wear a gas mask cause it smokes like the Marlboro Man on payday.

Don,
What were your results after using the seafoam? Did you suffer from sticking valves?

What part of the intake do you spray it into?

When using the liquid I use the vacume line on the passenger inboard sid of the engine( disconnect from pcv valve). The spray goes into the throttle body. This did help the sticking valves and improve engine performance, But I'm only delaying the inevitable future valve job. The problem is the exhaust valves which are almost impossible to keep clean due to poor initial design as well as an ECU programed by a left handed blind monkey. Soon I'll be rebuilding the top end ,rechipping , exhausting and lifting. But after that I'll still be using seafoam as part of my regular maintenance. Don Did I mention It was an extremely well paid monkey?
