I am sure this was asked before , I will keep it short. Does replacing stock lines with the stainless make that much of a difference in the way the pedal feels?, I have a 96 D1 and no matter what the pedal feels spongy , been like this right out of the box,thanks....

yes it does! stainless lines do not stretch when the fluid is pushed thru the line. to qualify my answer, next time you are at a race track peek under a wheel well and look what those boys run. as a matter of fact the size of the bore in the stainless lines vary. in my racing days we used to run -2 sizes lines. it really increased both the feel and force applied to the caliber from the master cylinder as the brakes are applied. the major factor in the feel was the lack of line expansion. this was a direct result of use of SS lines. kevlar wrapped lines are an alternate source but they had (HAD) a tendency of seperating at the coupling, this made for a bad ride, a real bad ride.
in shout the application of brakes takes more than a big ass foot on the middle pedal and the more feel (aka feedback) to your brain via your foot the better. was it not a fella named Pascal who thunk up all of those fluid dynamic laws.

Just make sure you inspect those stainless lines regularly. Not an issue on a track car as it is by definition constantly being worked on and scrutinized, but it is on a street car. ;)

I replaced my stock Rover brake lines with the Paragon Stainless ones. There was no difference in pedal feel.

I know that marketing hype on the stainless brake lines is supposed to be better pedal response.
I'm guessing the quality on the stock brake lines is pretty good and that the only time you are going to notice a difference is if your existing brake lines are shot and about to break.

Just my $0.02 on the subject.

Thanks,
Mike B.

i think a lot of times folks get these lines, install them and do a good brake bleed and then feel a difference.

probably a lot more to do with the bleeding than the lines.
