OK, Hot water in paassenger footwell and mist coming out of vents.... Must be the heater core. Where's best source for replacement? Searched archives and looks like it's a major pain. How bout looping coolant lines before they enter the core and waiting till winter? Will that stops leaks? |

Yeah, that'll stop the leak. I've done my heater core 3 times. The second time, I screwed up the mounting flanges trying to get the thing apart before I noticed that you can move the pipes if you take out the A/C fan which necessitated the third time, but I digress. I've bought new for about $125 at importedcarparts.com, bought the last one off of Ebay. Also got one for a buddy out of a salvage yard. Try car-part.com for salvage. People have mentioned copper ones on this site that supposedly are better, but I have no clue where to get those. Good luck and be prepared for a pain in the ass Saturday. |
