In the June copy of LRM they have a cover shot and a article about the Defender edition Disco. They are calling it that because the top is white and the body green. It was kitted out with a few goodies like underbody protection. It was driven through some of death valley and sported dealer plates in the photos. Anyone seen this Disco before? The magazine article made it sound like it was a LRNA special edition Discovery. They really did not go into a lot of detail about the configuration on the Disco but I thought it sounded intresting.

I saw that too, I guess that's one of the mysterious discos that some people were talking about on another thread. It didn't look as great as I thought it would though...

BTW, my July one just got in the mail today. I hear there's more US coverage now and that they will have a US version by September... should be interesting.

It's just a regular Epsom Green Disco that had the roof painted white and added the off-road mods to it. Nothing Defenderish about it except for the reference to the color combo. I agree Glenn. It didn't really do much for me. If that's all it takes to have a Special Edition Discovery, I guess I could paint my rear cargo door a bright red and call it the "Baboon Edition Disco".

I hope they come out with a NA version of the magazine. It'd be nice to read stuff that was a bit more relevant.

For anyone noobie off-roaders, this months issue of Land Rover World has a nice write up about driving off-road. It's the first article in a series they are doing with each succesive article getting more technical. It was quite well written.

"Baboon Edition" - Classic! The rear tire would look even better!

I agree, it would be nice to read about trail reports that don't involve talking to your local right of way officer.

I've noticed lately at the magazine shop, that there are fewer editions of various LR magazines that are related to what I'm doing and what is around me. So I haven't bought an issue in quite some time (its done wonders for my financial situation ).

It seems like all of those guys over in England would love to have a V8 rover, while everyone over here would love to have a Tdi .

Can't wait for new, more important magazine.

My disco made it into the issue. It is the Black one with the genuine winch kit in the poconos trip.

Looking forward to the US version of LRM they have hired a true Land Rover guy and it looks like he is going to do a "bang" up job of it.

By the looks of the link, it looks like it's next months issue. How did you get yourself into a UK magazine?

Congrats Ron!

Hey Ron, didn't recognize your Disco. I have the issue at home. That's great! I've been trying to get Evan to sign my copy but he's aparently in Canada trying to get married (?)
