So my soon to be new 2001 Disco is currently at the dealership for a non-functioning ACE PUMP. I don't know how long its been out, the dealership I'm buying from (non LR dealership) was going to sell it to me as is until I made comments on the noise. Are there any issues that should be more closely examined knowing the ACE went out? Anything that is prone to damage when this happens? If my ACE goes out in the middle of nowhere can I safely drive my vehicle to civilization? Thanks. |

i lost my pump once on my 2001...it sprayed fluid all over the engine, made me worry about a fire. i would imagine that unless yours were to spew fluid or the pump freezes and toasts the belt, there would be no problem with ACE failing and getting home. ater all, it is a seperate system to anything else (belt aside). as long as they make sure the connections in the system are solid and leak free (did any seals dry out if the system was not pumping fluid) things should be good...since the pump is most of the system after the actuators. good luck mike |
