Idles like sh!t from time to time...

Author Message   ken nishikawa (Scubaman99) New Member Username: Scubaman99 Post Number: 40 Registered: 06-2002 Posted on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 - 01:10 am:    95 disco, 130K miles... as of late (last 2 weeks) my Disco intermittenly idles like sh!t. it seems fine powerwise when i accelerate or am driving but about 50% of the time when i stop for a light, OR if i sit idling for a LONG light the idle turns rough. if i put the transmition into park or netural it idles fine for a few minutes... but sometimes goes back to being rough any ideas?!?!?!   Joseph Bilyk (Denverrover) Member Username: Denverrover Post Number: 69 Registered: 02-2003 Posted on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 - 09:14 am:    IAS motor. Don't clean it, replace it. Look in archives under "IAS" or "Stepper motor." I had a problem like that also. Firstly I thought it was the IAC valve but it turned out to be a fuel pump. The car would run fine and then every so often (at the traffic lights) the thing would start fluctuating with its idling. Then the check engine would come on.
