I am getting ready to put a LR Adventure rack on my DiscoII. I am sorting out what I will do for flooring. My question is: To keep rack noise to a minimum (relatively speaking) is there much noise difference between solid sheet metal vs. some sort of wire mesh material? (Mesh seems more funtional because of endless lashing points but may make the rack even louder.) And: Sould I cover the middle slope of the rack or just leave it? (Again, lashing points vs. noise.)I do have sun roofs. Advice both on fuction and noise would be greatly appreciated. |

There are several threads in the archives arguing the diferences between solid vs open flooring. Everyone has at least one opinion. The noise probably won't be too much worse unless you like to run with sunroofs open. If you like to do that, then you may not want solid flooring, as it doesn't let much sun come through the sunroof. -Reed |
