I had a thread earlier on the tech board about brush guards. I was wondering if any of you had seen a 2003 with a a-frame bar installed. I think that they look different than before. If anyone has any pictures or vendor recommendations for an a-frame or a brush guard it would be appreciated. I need something on the front it is just hard to find anything, especially with pictures included. Thanks |

Hill- I believe any Disco2 A-frame brush bar will work. I don't think that the frame horn design has changed on the 2003 Disco 2. You might check to see if part number STC50024 will work on your truck. That being said, I used to have an A-frame bar on my 2001 D2. http://www.discoweb.org/craigkobayashi/truckhaven01.jpg http://www.discoweb.org/cowmountain/cowmtn043.jpg |

I think this tiny Disco on the main page has an a-frame as well. This is the newer style.

Thanks for everyone's help. I like the look of the bar in the picture. Do you really need the extensions from the full bar? I hope not, this looks really nice with the new headlights. Can you mount a winch plate to them later? One more thing, is there somewhere I can order this and put it on myself without going through my dealer? Thanks again, Hill |

the winch plate is a different item that mounts in the same location of all the LR brush guards, so you will need to remove any a-bar or brush guard in order to install the winch tray. You may want to look into this, though, because some previous Disco2 winch trays have had a small A-bar on them. There should be no reason you would not be able to install the A-bar yourself if you are proficient with some wrenches. |
