Surely I'm not the first guy to have some minor hail damage on the roof. But yes, it happened the other day. I have filed the claim with my insurance carrier and have yet to hear from the adjuster. I just hung up from talking to a Land Rover mechanic and he told me that if the adjuster knows what he's doing that he will adjust for the entire replacement of the roof. The first thing that came into my mind was, "Oh my gawd. That's going to be a big check." Since I've not read a post here to that affect I was wondering if anyone else has had this experience. The mechanic I spoke with told me that the reason for this was due to the fact that you can't pop those dents out of the aluminum roof. So to you guys who have had this experience, can you give me any direction on this. I don't want to be ignorant on this issue when I do meet with my claims adjuster. |

I think you can pop them out. If the dent guys can fix hoods and quarter panels, I am not sure why they can't fix the roof. Maybe they need more access but if you do get a check, I'd call a dent repair guy to see if he thinks he can fix it... |

Kelly- My D2 roof is steel. The quick proof is that I can stick a magnetic mount antenna to the roof but not to the aluminum side panels. Sounds like the mechanic might be trying to drum up some insurance business, since he told you it was an aluminum roof. |

Use dry ice and a heat gun....slowly heat the area of the dent with the heat gun, be carefull not to scorch the paint. then get a peice of dry ice and rub it over the hot metal... the dent will pop out...be carefull the dry ice even though it is cold it will burn the skin |
