Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to the LR authentic $100+ locking lug nuts?

Land Rover non-locking nuts?

Nobody wants to steal you stock alloys.

FWIW, maybe nothing.

I dont think that you should be concerned with a person stealing your wheels. Not to mention not may folks have a lug wrench that would get your lugs off.

I used to have lock nuts and FWIW they are a pain in the arse. After about 6 months the 'cover caps' developed 'electrolysis' and virtually welded themselves to the locknuts in such a way that you could simply undo them with a normal wheel brace.
Take note of the other posters; no one wants your wheels!

I have had the unenviable task of trying to remove the spare from a '95 Defender that had never had the spare off. The LR locking lug nuts are fine on the actual lugs nuts, but on the spares, they mate to the outside edge of the nut and IF you can get them off, you'll never get them back on.

Just what I want, a spare that is only accessible if you have recently and regularly removed the nuts.

Personally, I'd almost rather have to deal with an inusrance comapny than risk the hell I'd have to go through if my wife were to have a flat and not be able to get the damned nuts off the spare!

Mike:
I'm sorry to hear that. My wife is an insurance adjuster. You should see it when someone brings us a car to look at! She grabs her NADA guide and estimating software while I'm climbing underneath!

Peace,
Paul

sometimes it is good, though...like when i can't take her anywhere because i spent too much on "junk for your truck." half the time she never notices anything is different, so it just seems i am pennyless!
