I changed the steering box a few weeks ago (meridian) and I am starting to feel a stiff steering from time to time. It is variable, sometime it is easy, sometime it gets hard to turn the wheel. This was not happening prior to changing the steering box (the previous box was working fine but leaking like a fountain).
My guess is that the pump is tired and is now unable to pull the pressure necessary for a newer box with no leak (torn gaskets inside the pump or shaft play?).

Anybody can confirm? Paul?

Thanks,
Lionel (95 D1, 190k)

Lionel ... hehe, thats why I also own a ... shhh ... Honda.

It offsets both the gas mileage and I can take it on vacation with confidence. ;)
