Ok, I have some info on these... I am not sure if the terminology I am going to use is correct but I believe these are "shop notices".

2E2X: Radiator hose
8G5X: Sunroof glass adrift

I am guessing that these were common issues that LR knew about and were having the LR service techs sign off on vehicles when they came in for scheduled service.

If anybody wants to know where I came up with this info, I called LR Cust. Service and gave them the VIN number of the vehicle I was going to look at. They let me know before I met with the guy if it had missed any scheduled maintenance points, failed to complete recall repairs etc.

While on the phone, I also got them to run mine... it seems that mine has missed all of my scheduled appts. (I should have called them before I bought it). They then entered my contact info in association with the VIN so that any future notices would come to me. I bought this disco from a private party.

Ok, now where do I find EXACTLY what should be checked, replaced, etc for each of the scheduled repairs on a 1996 D1? LRNA couldn't tell me... LR Annapolis, although just as helpful as LRNA (no sarcasm here, I think they were great), didn't have the time to go over that with me on the phone. I didn't bother asking them because they weren't making anything off of me. It felt wrong. Unfortunately, they couldn't point me to a resource either.

So... does anybody know where I can get a nice copy of the scheduled repairs? I was hoping it would be in RAVE but I couldn't find it.

First off, Steve, I can't believe LR gave you that info! We have been given strict instructions -- FROM LR -- NOT to give history to ANYONE, even the owner, unless they are the one who actually completed the repair. It had to do with privacy laws. So just so everyone else knows, Steve's luck with LR was the exception, not the rule.
On the question, what do you mean by scheduled repairs? Are you looking to see what recalls are still open on your car? If you give me the last 8 of your VIN, I can tell you what recalls you still have open. Are you asking about maintenance? The maintenance schedule is in your Passport to Service in the owner's manual.
Just because it wasn't in LR's history, doesn't mean that your maintenance wasn't done, either.

Hey Alyssa,

What I am looking for is what the schedules are for my type of vehicle...

Example:
"At 10K, you should do this"
"At 22.5K, you should do this and this"

If I just have the schedule, I can backtrack and make sure that things have been done, like things that should be replaced or inspected at whatever interval. Yes I would like to know what is recorded to have been done on my disco but just the general info for all of a specific year/model would be pretty darn useful to me. (1996 SE7 w/ rear A/C if I didn't mention that before).

As far as LR not giving out that data, I can understand why. I was very lucky and acknowledge that the next time I look at a vehicle to purchase, I should check the things I am competent to check for myself and get a good mechanic to do the rest... or I could just go certified pre-owned and alleviate most of the headaches.

This was all in regards to the other thread on the 50th Anniversary (yeah, right) model for the specific shop notices.

If I stopped making sense with "Hey Alyssa," then you have permission to slap me.

Good. It's also in your passport to service, described in detail, as I said earlier.

To Chris Whybrew: You do not have any open recalls. Your name is also correctly in the computer system. ...and it looks like you have the exact same car I do. Leather manual seats? Auto trans? Neat.

Dear Alyssa,
I just happened to come across your comment above: "Are you looking to see what recalls are still open on your car? If you give me the last 8 of your VIN, I can tell you what recalls you still have open" and was wondering if you could do the same for me? Someone mentioned that they thought my 96 Disco SE should have had some sort of evaporative tank replaced as part of a recall or action... but the old tank is still there, and they were wondering if it was one of the recalled ones... The last 8 digits in my VIN are TA526998... Thank you in advance for your help!

Nope, Erik. No recalls open on yours, either.
