I used a meat thermometer to check the coldness of my a/c. I drove up the interstate and the a/c got down to 46 degrees. That sounds cold, but it seems like it is not blowing as cold as it has in the past. Is 46 about right? |

Nope, your a/c must blow at 44.8 degrees or its broken. JK If you feel its not as cold as it used to be than your probably getting low on freon. You can get it recharged most anywhere. Dan |

Can you still get freon or will you have to change over to the new stuff, or can they add the new stuff to your freon? |

Yes, you can still get the old freon. It will cost you though. No, you can't mix it. Depending on what year your vehicle is, you probably already have the new AC system, so you won't have to change anything. |

You should have the environmental friendly R134a refrigerant in your car, unless your disco is imported. I own a 95 and just had my AC checked, it nice in this 90 degree weather we are having that car gets nicely cold!! |

D, it is my understanding that you should be able to maintain about a 40 degree difference between the outside temp versus the inside temp. If your a/c can do that it is working well. Though depending on the year of your truck, it might be a good idea to get it re-charged and you'll notice a difference. |
