What is the proper way to bleed the coolant, should I start the car with the expansion tank cap off and let it bubble out or should I use the radiator plug? Had problems with the expansion tank it exploded, now the car seems to work fine but the temperature fluctuates after driving it for 10 minutes????

Did you replace the expansion tank?

Yep, lost about all the coolant in the car, after filling as much as I could through the expansion tank it still seems to overheat after driving the car for several minutes, the heat fluctuates that's what makes me think maybe I got air pockets in the system???
