My '91 TDi has a strange ticking noise coming from the engine compartment, but it can only be heard when the engine is being revved under load. I initially thought it might be a leak in the exhaust manifold gasket but now I have an 'orrible feeling it could be the head gasket. Has anyone else had similar symptoms? And did you did fix it? | ||

Sounds like a manifold gasket to me. My '95 had these symptoms - that was the V8 engine, though. |
