I was in Advanced Auto Parts yesterday and I overheard one of the salesmen tell another customer that a K&N oil filter only needs to be changed once a year. I asked him about it and he said the under normal driving coditions and mileage, that's what K&N says.
Is that correct? I can not find anywhere that substantiates that. Does anybody actually do it?

There is no such thing as normal driving conditions IMO. Stop and go, the weather changing all the time, temperature differences etc, you get the point. So you should change your oil filter every time you change your oil.

Maybe? If you only drive 3000-6000 miles a year.

I've never heard that, but I change my K&N filter every time I change the oil, no matter what.
