I stumbled across this today on roverconnection.com today. They are now selling Powerchips for Discos, Defenders, and Rangies. Might want to check it out.

I copied this off the Power Chip site. Yikes $490 for 15 more horses and 17 ft/lbs of torque.

From their site:

Your Land Rover Discovery 4.0 uses a soldered chip. Fitting takes about 1 hour and can be performed by a Powerchip Authorised Fitter, who are available in most areas. The Powerchip is currently in stock and can be delivered by next day courier.

In standard form, the Discovery 4.0 produces 188 hp and 250 lb.-ft.

Powerchip has a range of chips to suit your car, which can increase it's power to between 203 hp and 206 hp, and it's torque to between 267 lb.-ft and 272 lb.-ft.

The price of the Powerchip is USD $490.

hey Greg, what does your disco look like?? I'm in baton rouge for the summer taking two classes at lsu. I'm parked in the commuter lot by the public safety building from 8:30 to 12:00, my truck looks like it does in my gallery with the addition of a roof rack and snorkle

I might give it a try considering some of the things I've already done to my engine. Been thinking about the one that RPI offers. But I am more familiar with Powerchip. Just wish someone would come out with a roller cam, lifters, and roller rockers.
Geaux Tigers! I actually attended Mcneese State, but I like the LSU Tigers.

It's a black 1996 Disco, I'm not in the Baton Rouge area all that often, I just drive through about every other week to help my dad out at his office in Hammond. But I will be attending LSU in the fall of 2004. As to McNeese, I have a few friend here in my home town that are going to McNeese to play football for them next year, so I'll probably be around Lake Charles watching them play.

Allegedly a 15hp and 17ft/lbs improvement.

For better trail performance, you would be better off putting that $500.00 toward changing the ring & pinion.

Second Barrys comments. Not just trail performance, just driving around, both city and hwy, the gears just made the difference. I'm running 4.75s with 33s and its just so much 'normal' (vs dogish) than when I had stock tires and 3.54s.
