through the throttle body. disconnect the intake from the air cleaner after the MAF and pour it in the throttle body (large butterfly valve). |

Damien, You don't have a carburetor on a Disco, you have fuel injection. If you follow Garrett's suggestion, what he's saying is to pull the hose off, the one that runs from the air filter box to the top of the engine, to pull it off as near to the engine as you can, and to pour it in through there. I would look on the opposite side of the engine bay, though, you should see a hose running into the side of the plenum (the large bit in the center of the engine on top, that has 4.0 on top of it). Basically, you want to find a vacuum line that runs into the engine, and essentially let it pull the fluid back into it. -L

Yeah Garrett, splain more... Carb on a Disco? Do you have an older RR? Damien, do you know where the air filter is on your Disco? The square box .... that's the air cleaner.. After that comes the Mass Air Flow then a large rubber hose .... remove the rubber hose from the plenum (the part that has 4.0 stamped on it)...

no...no carb of course. i am talking to the right side of the plenum were there throttle body is. i dump it in there. you don't want to spray it where the MAF will come in contact with it. what john is explaining is correct. that is where i am talking of injection the shit.

Even easier is if you have the spray can. Disconnect the little hose from the right side of the plenum. (It is held in place with a hose clamp) Pull it off and put your finger over the hole. It should be sucking in. This is good. Spray it in there with the engine running, then shut it off when it bogs down. Let it sit for a while (5min to overnight) then start it up. It will smoke and smell bad. Drive it around. This doesn't help if you have the pour-in version. I think that is made to put in your gas tank and oil tank. By the way, Damien...did you get my second email? Still waiting on a counter offer, but am leaving for Orlando until next Monday. |
