If so, any issues?

I am running 255/70/16 on my stock D2 with no problems. If anything they fit and look better than the stock size. I have the BFG ATs and it looks just perfect with a stock truck. They are a little expensive though. Good Luck

I'm running 255/70/16 Goodyear MT/Rs at the moment. No problems with fit or rubbing. The spare tire fits without reversal of the bracket. Actually the spare tire is a perfect fit as it lightly touches the bumper. I'm hoping that some of the spare tire weight resting on the bumper will be better for the door hinges.

Stock tyres in Australia are 235/70R16, and all these other blokes are running 265's with no prob's.

Why not go bigger?

Troy,

I have a set of 5 - 255/70 Dunlop Mud Rovers for sale. I'll sell them for $225+ship. Let me know if you interested. 4 have 75% tread and 1 with 100%.

Thanks Ryan. I'll pass I already have a Jeep with 8" of lift. Our disco2 is the family roadster so looking for something more road worthy.

Troy, I run 245/75/16 BFG AT's, and they're fantastic on the road; better, IMO, than the 255/65/16 Michelin XPC's that came on my Disco. Much better rain traction and hydroplaning resistance, better stability, better ride, and barely louder. Of course they smash the XPC's on the trail and frankly exceed my expectations unless you get into lots of deep mud.

Slightly slimmer than the 255's you're looking at, but a good choice.

I believe 255x70x16 must have been what the truck was designed for, as my speedo shows perfect - dead on - speed compared to the GPS. With stock tires, the speedo was 10% or so fast.

I am putting a OME 2" lift on my 2000 Disco II, Any suggestions regarding tire types as well as sizes. I am currently considering BFG AT's 265-75-16's, but not quite sure if I want to go that big. Anyone running 265-70's or 275-70's? What about the new Mud Terrain T/A-KM's? Help quick as the lift is here and the tires need to be ordered!!!

John Friederich, Did you put on a 255x70x16 as a spare? I am looking at the stock spare and there's not a whole lot of room between the spare and the bumper. Looks like I can turn the tire carrier upside down and gain a bit of clearance. Thanks, Troy
