anyone ever change the clock light? i have the shop manual and its next to useless as far as showing how to actually do it. first it says to disconnet the battery before removing the drink holder. why the hell does the drink holder pose a electric shock hazzard? it says there are 6 screws holding in the drink tray wheee the heck are they? it also says to remove the ashtray. why remove the ashtray? it's on the other side of the dash. then it says to remove the switch panel. thats the easiest part. then it says i am supposed to "Release 4 clock panel securing tags" i can't find a securing tag that i can access much less be able to release them. i am sure i must be missing something obvious. if anyones done this before please tell me. |

Hi Jason The screws you need to access are behind the ashtray and lower switch panel. You can usually lever out the clock with a credit card or similar. Best of luck Pete S |

Hey Jason, I replaced my clock bulb a few months ago. Disco Web has an illistrated guide to doing it in the Tech section under FAQ's. Here is the link. http://www.discoweb.org/faq/clock.htm I think the stock bulb is supposed to be a 1.5 or 2 watt bulb. I put in a 2.5 watt bulb and it works fine. If you want, I can look up the sylvania number that I used. I have an extra bulb since there sold in 2 packs. Ohh, and I just twisted the wires together not knowing how long the Sylvania bulb would last. Didn't bother soldering them back in. Good luck.... Jeff |

It's a lot easier than that. I used my drivers license and another plastic card, both without the raised lettering. Slip one in the top and the other in the bottom. Work back and forth to release the plastic tabs on the clock/switch assembly. I used a small flat edge screwdriver with very little force to move the assembly away from the dash to allow my fingers to grab it. Replace the bulb and pop it back in. - Mark |
