Okay okay.... confession's good for the soul, I suppose....

The family, all of us, are big Harry Potter fans... the local bookstore was having a shindig for the release of Book 5, so, the kids dressed up, we went and had a great time there that night, etc., brought the book home and started reading it to each other right away, stayed up til 4 that morning.... kept reading at it when we could, 'til we finished it on Wednesday (all 870 pages... had to read around work, dinner, etc.).

Anyone else read it yet, too? Or am I the only one that nutters? Yes, I've got a screw loose

-L

I have a friend that read it the first day, 13 hours non stop. I haven't gotten into them yet but I hear they are good, my girlfriend is reading it right now though.

We love the whole series and can't wait to get the new one. The first movie was great also.

I started reading them about two years ago when I relocated to NY. I had to spend alot of time in airports and really enjoyed the read. They are fun books, I devoured them! I've always enjoyed fantasy, Tolkein, etc. (not that Rowland is on par with JRR, that could be an entire thead, but...) My kids are a little to young for the movies, 4-6 yrs, but Dad will have the complete set of books and DVD's when they're ready.

The first movie was a little scary for one of kids but I have a heck of a time finding ANYTHING "kid cool" when we do go. I saw NEMO 2 weeks ago and it was really funny and good for all.

I was completely in awe of the animation during Nemo. But I had to keep fielding questions about "what happed to his mother?".

LOL... Nemo was a cool movie. That Dory character and the Australian Turtles were so cool.

John, I had to dodge those questions too from my 4 yr old until his 9 year old brother got annoyed of him asking and he said to him, "She's Dead!". That surely kept him quiet.

Carter - you'll like the Harry Potter books. Haven't read the new one but I got hooked after my friend's kids suggest I read the first book.

John - that animation for Nemo was AMAZING! In parts where you didn't see any fish in the shot, it's pretty hard to tell that it's not real! That shark club was pretty amusing.

"Fish are our friends. We will not eat fish. Fish are our friends. Fish are our friends. FISH ARE OUR FRIENDS!" Hehe...

"Look guys, just jump into my beak and I'll get us out of here." :-) That was a funny one.
