dear friends, after struggling with the bad idle and surging issue, i finally took off my stepper housing at the recommendation of the 2001 technical bulletin. in case you didnt get the news.. the LR factory admitted that many of the stepper housings in D1's were desgined improperly due to machaine ware...the signs are poor idle, stalling, and surging. (Does this sound like you?) i have the diagram of the good housing and the bad housing... i am one of the lucky ones who have the BAD housing. i will try to post the diagram later in the week. but until then, if you are courious, you can scan me a foto of your housing to my email address, and i will be able to tell you wether it is at fualt or not. make sure you lay the housing FLAT on the screen. and place a black blanket over it, so it will scan properly. i will return your email the same day M-F (also, if you have a d1 that is running properly, send me a scan of your housing so i can see what your slooks like. i will compen$ate for your efforts via paypal) also, i am going to attempt a modification of the housing, and if it works i will tell you how to modify your housing without buying a new part. |
