Had 98 V8i in today regarding high idle. O2 sensor changed at their expense but technician said i have most likely have main ecu failure (passeger side beside windsheild washer resevoir) that is telling truck to idle higher. After computer reset it usually takes about one week to start the high idle again. 5 months ago had engine cleaned a Ziebart store and immeadiately had high idle after and have been dealing with it ever since. Dealer said main ecu 2500.00 to replace. Can this occur, any other stories like this and is it possible to get a used cpu anywhere and for what price |
