I ordered a complete OME 2" lift for my 2000 Disco that included HD springs for the rear. After scanning all the technical "know how" compiled at this site, I now realize the rear springs are not neated as I can "modify" or "trick" my rear SLS into lifting itself to compensate for the raised front end. 2 questions: 1) does anyone have a spec sheet on what is needed to trick the SLS into adjusting itself. I know it involves adjusting the sensor, but I would like "specifics" and what is needed (i.e. size, dimensions, material, tools needed)and 2) How hard is it to switch from SLS to just using springs / shocks in the rear? Any technical related sites that detail the swap? Anyone done the swap (or had it done to their Disco by a professional) and how much did it run you. Thanks, -Luke |

Al Cruz has done the swap to HD springs after losing the air compressor on his D2. I don't think he regrets the decision one bit. I'll see if I can direct him to this thread. |

Luke, I've converted my rear SLS to springs recently and it was quite easy. Give me a few days here so I could write something for the tech section. These are the main parts that you would need to do the coil conversion. You will also need bolts, size depends on wether or not you plan to use spacers. Spring isolators : RBC100111 Spring Perch (RT): REG100000 Spring Perch (LT): REG100010
Spacer 1" : http://www.expeditionexchange.com/spacers/ Or email offline for more specifics. Al |

Luke, I'm running OME HD springs in the front and SLS in the rear of my 99 Dll. To fool the sensor, you need two small plates of steel with 2 holes approx. 1 inch apart. There is a very good write up on this in Expedition Exchange.com tech section. Its part of the Installing HD Shocks section. I did add RTE's two inch spacers to reduce airbag pressure. David |
