What is involved in changing main ecu in 98 v8i. What is involvrd in reprogramming the unit for the new vehicle that it is placed in. I ask this question because I have had high idle problem for some time and the dealer has informed me the unit is not functioning properly. I am investigating getting a used ecu and replacing mine. |

Will this work on a 98. Why are you removing yours? Again what is involved in changing it. This would be done at the dealer I assume. The dealer actually told me I need a 98 or newer and said he would need to inquire about reconfiguring the unit for my vehicle. |

Jordan, I changed my 96 ECU with one out of a 98 D1, and it worked just the same. It may need some time to calibrate itself. peter |

Peter, why did you end up replacing your ECU. What caused the problems with the unit. Did you do this on your own? If so what are the steps involved? |
