I have a '90 Range Rover Classic SWB with 130,000 miles. About 9 months ago I had an exhaust leak and I replaced the gaskets between the head and exhaust manifold on one side of the engine. Now before you give me grief and wonder aloud why I didn't do both sides at the same time, I bought all the necessary parts and told the mechanic to do it. Two weeks later and itching to get back on the trails, I picked it up and he only did the side that made noise. "Gee, thanks" In any case, I have some questions . . . , (1) Is this typical? (2) Should I be looking in place in particular for the exhaust leak (other than the other side)? (3) Or should I just go ahead and replace all the gaskets, studs and nuts between (a) the head and exhaust manifold and (b) the exhaust manifold and the down-pipe. As always, looking forward to your insightful insight. |
