I have a problem with my 88 RRC. when left overnight she starts really rough. The revs go to almost zero although the engine is turning over (starter motor sounds good and strong etc..) after a few seconds the revs will either pick up and then normal idle starts or a little flutter on the accelerator is enough to feed her enough to normal revs. Also when warm if I turn on the air conditioning the revs drop to almost zero and then recover back to normal idle. Tonight I sat in neutral and revved the engine at 1500 for about 10 or 15 seconds, when I let go of the throttle the revs dropped to 1000 for about 5 seconds and then dropped back to about 500 rpm. Help - anyone got any ideas?? Thanks in advance Freddy P.S. This is the car used by Lisa Kudrow in the yet to be released sequel to Romy and Michel - anybody else got a RRC movie star? |

Yeah, mine was used by some guy called Vinnie and has some blood stains in the rear cargo area.... the movie should be out in a few months as soon as they catch Vinnie and get some more details. I'm guessing it could be the TPS (throttle position sensor), you might want to check the Stepper Motor also (just in case). I'm probably wrong but that's what I would check.. Good luck, John C. i'm thining your fuel pump is dying and is barely priming the system. once it's started it sort of feeds itself. does it also lack "balls" when you hammer the pedal? mine was flat from 2500-3500 RPM. needle would go up but no power. after fuel pump it startted first turn. idled better and the power had returned. john, that wasnt a movie.. hehe -just an idea. rd |
