My driverside window fell off its track and I can't get it up past half way. This happened last night and being on the east coast I am expecting a lot of rain in the next couple of days. I was just wondering how I should go about getting the door off and the window back on track, because I know that door work can be a real pain. |

Adam, I bet it is your regulator. Pull the window towards the rear of the truck while pushing the up button. I bet the window is just getting binded up when it hits half way. To fit it look in the tach section. |

In the meantime for the duck tape works well for holding the window up. You should be able to pull the panel and stuff to check it in less than an hour. There are instructions on how to do this in the Tech section. Once you can see it you will know what you need to replace. Good luck. -Reed |

Does the motor still make noise? It's probably the regulator arms..There are 3 plastic wheels which travel in a track inside your door. One of the wheels either broke or popped out of the track, and may have bent.. You can try to straighten the arms or you'll need to find a new one.. I included some pics ..the first one shows my door without the panel ( I put the handles back on.) You'll need to remove the handles and speaker. Then pull the panle off from the bottom. There are little plastic clips, some will come out of the panel and some will pull out of the door. (You'll need to pull the ones which stayed in the door out and put them back on the panel when you reinstall it)Then just lift the panel over the door lock.. Undo the bolts holding the window motor in place.. (loosen 2 of em) unplug the motor. Remove the small stopper bolts on the right end of the rails (so the plastic wheels can roll off) You should now be able to turn the entire assembly clockwise untill you can get the wheels out of the rails then pull it out the bottom hole...The other pics show my regulator and how bent the arms are from a wheel braking.. Hope this helps a little.. |
