Aside from my continuing high idle problems which the dealer says now is related to a malfunctioning ecu i am experiencing with increased regularity a loss in power as if there is gas flow problem at about 2000 rpm. It will happen for a few seconds and then all is normal. I just had oxygen sensor replaced and idle was ok for few days but now is slowly creeping back up to a higher level. Any ideas before I bite the bullet and replace main ecu. Is using a used ecu a good idea?

Jordan - you may have an ECU problem but I would test the IAC before you replace the computer. When you finally have a decent idle disconnect your IAC and drive around for a few days. This was wrong w/ my truck. I have been driving around w/ my IAC unplugged for a few months & my truck has never run better. I tweaked it so that I am idling at about 800 RPM's. I know that it is not exactly the best way to do things..but the dealer has no clue in my experience......

"Idle Air Control" or also referred to as the "Stepper Motor."

Is there any danger in running the truck for extended period with IAC disconnected? And is it as simple as disconnecting the plug in the picture anything else to do? Excuse my ignorance.

Thanks Joseph(Denverrover). I did as you said and the idle is perfect. A little low at stops with AC on but I am now very happy. Simply disconnected IAC and voila idle perfect. Dealer mechanic very surprised. Does this mean I should look at replacing this part and if so what is the cost involved.
