1998 4.6HSE vs 1999 4.0 S

Author Message   Raj Tuli (Britrover) New Member Username: Britrover Post Number: 7 Registered: 04-2003 Posted on Thursday, July 03, 2003 - 07:59 am:    Hello, I am considering purchasing a Range Rover and am looking at a 1998 4.6 HSE with 62K miles still under factory warranty till 63k and a 1999 4.0 S 63K miles. The owner of the 1998 has all maintainance records and the engine was sealed at 60 K according to Landover dealership when the 60K service was done. Is the 1999 a better year in terms of reliability or it simply depends on the maintenance work performed. Anyone have any suggestions in terms of warranty providers on Range Rovers. So the Rover with Bosch is more reliable is it. I am just confused as the 1998 Rover looks very well maintained.I don't know if 1998 Range Rover's had a lot of issues. Don't understand where your confusion comes from, well maintained isn't everything as there are distinct differences.
