I recently purchased a 96 Discovery. The only problme that I have experieneced is with my driver's door lock. When I use the keyless entry, the lock goes down and then comes back up. Following this the alram goes off. The key will not lock the door either. All of the other locks work fine, it is just the driver's door. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is wrong and how to fix it. Thanks Kevin |

Kevin: The door locks on these trucks are fairly complex electro-mechanical assemblies. If you get lucky, you may find the actuator only needs some adjustment. Pull the cover off the door and adjust the storke of the actuator by moving the actuator in its slightly elongated screw holes. |

You probably do have a bad actuator, that is either about to go out or is not working properly. Sometimes just tightning up the screws on the unit or moving it backwards or forward fixes the problem but I've had two doors fail on me already and new actuators are the only thing that have fixed the problem. |

Tony: I've had a chattering actuator for two years. When it finally fails, I'll replace it. |
