I change my oil about every 2000 miles and today I switched to Mobil 1. The old oil filter seemed to be at least double the weight as previous changes. What exaclty is trapped in the filter? Will the new synthetic make this worse and if it is heavy, does that mean that the filter is no longer working properly? Thanks |

Its getting filled with sludge. A lot of folks change the filters every few hundred miles when first switching to synthetic. |

If the filter is getting filled with sludge does this mean those of us using regular oil have gummed up engines? Would it be a good idea to switch to SYNthetic oil? |

I have a 3.9 with 45k on it. I am considering the switch to synthetic, I have heard that this isnt good in some cases since the Rovers are prone to leaking? and that the motor has gotten used to the certain oil that has been put in it? ANy insight into this issue? |
