What are the best brake pads for a D1? Who has them? How much?

I've been going to this tire shop with all my vehicles for brake service. My dad has an account there and it is just a signature away from free service. My last 3 vehicles have had squeeky brakes and I think it is from the generic brake pads that they use. The disco has squeeky brakes. I'm tired of squeeky brakes.

I need some good brake pads that won't squeek..................

I bought the original Land Rover pads from Atlantic British. They don't squeek. By the way, as easy as it is to change the pads, why not do it yourself?

By the way...Go VOLS! he he he!

What is the deal with kevlar pads?

You'll be screaming "War Eagle" in a few short months Chris. Auburn will go #1 this year.

Blake, I don't have any experience with Kevlar. I have read on this board that kevlar pads don't work too well when cold, they have to heat up to stick. I think the comments were that they were good for extreme hot climates. Also have read that many in hot climates using kevlar do so with slotted discs.

I moved from Birmingham to NV and I use regular pads and discs. I do notice some loss of stopping power during the middle of the day (when it's 120 degrees) and I'm pulling my boat and doing a lot of braking.

Naa, the only time I scream "War Eagle" is when I have one in the sights of my 12 gauge shotgun.

Besides, if we play like we did last year, the only thing I'll be screaming is "you f*****g idiots!" But then again we did have a lot of injuries. Forunately for my blood pressure we didn't get to see too many UT games out here last year. But what the hell..."Rocky Top you'll always be home sweet home to me.....!!""
