Do you mean accumulator or pump? The pump test method is in the manual, as far as the accumulator goes - there is a pressure stamped into the cylinder. I would imagine you could just check it for that rated pressure. Just make sure you have somthing handy that can gauge better than 1500 psi. I never bothered on mine when I replaced it - just did it and the pump cycled much less frequently. Also - check the pressure switch on the pump - these are often part or all of the problem - and do not require replacement of the entire expensive pump. Bill

I mean the distribution block that has the reservoir sitting on top of it that the brake pedal hooks to and that has the 13 brake lines coming off of it. I've got one that I pulled off of my rig that I want to sell. I think the problem was with the ABS ECU and not the booster itself, it wasn't getting power to the plug, I want to check it out so I know it is good before I sell it. |

You got me there then - there are a bunch of solenoid valves in that sucker. I don't think I've ever seen any test procedures for that. Like you mentioned, most of the time it is something else that has gone wrong - ECU, pump. pressure switch, accumulator - rarely the entire valve body. I've seen a couple pulled off trucks when it was suspected they were bad, but then later sold with no problems. Good luck Bill |
